Apollo and Manchester United branded tyres launched in Thailand. First country to have Manchester United tyres in Asia

Bangkok, December 13th 2014 - Leading tyre manufacturer, the US$ 2.2 billion Apollo Tyres Ltd, today launched the dual branded Apollo & Manchester United tyres in Thailand. Thailand is the first country in Asia, and only the second country globally, after United Kingdom, to see the launch of the Manchester United branded tyre.

Aimed at the huge following of Manchester United in Thailand, the tyre was launched by Manchester United legends Andrew Cole and Ronny Johnsen at the club’s new launch of a fan event - United: LIVE in Bangkok held at Dhupatemiya Stadium. The tyre has been designed and developed in Apollo’s Global R&D for Passenger Vehicle tyres in Enschede, The Netherlands.  

Speaking at the launch of the dual branded tyre, Shubhro Ghosh, Head, ASEAN Region, Apollo Tyres Ltd, said,

“The Manchester United branded tyres are part of the limited edition series from Apollo Tyres which will be available throughout 2015. This launch showcases our commitment to the Thai consumers of bringing new tyre choices for them to conquer the road, and for the Thai fans of Manchester United football club.”

The tyres will be available at Apollo’s retail network partners nationwide with prices starting at Baht 2000 per tyre depending on size of tyres that range from 15-16 inches for the market in Thailand.

This dual branded limited edition tyre will be available in selected 15 inch and 16 inch rim sizes from Apollo’s existing Alnac 4G range. The tyres have a modern and sporty tread pattern that is designed for superior handling in wet and dry conditions; shorter braking distance and low noise.  

Apollo – Manchester United tyres easily and precisely respond to any unexpected steering corrections, providing maximum driving safety. The unique mix of raw materials ensures maximum traction and shorter braking distances on wet and dry surfaces. These tyres have been extensively tested by leading independent test agencies such as IDIADA, Spain and ATP Papenburg, Germany, demonstrating excellent results.
